Want $300 in 7 Days Just from Affiliates …Get Partners!

 I never intended to be a marketing affiliate or thought I’d actually make any money. I really just said yes to help a friend spread the word about an event as a favor. Imagine the shock to see my commission check top $300 in just 7 days! How much would it have been had I done this all month? In one year, that would be over $15,000 in ‘free’ money.

That’s the power of affiliates. I heard about affiliates, but never actively pursued any as part of my business plan. Now I feel like I am way late to the affiliate party. I realize that I’m missing out on a really good thing and I’m ready to make some serious changes. If you are not doing any affiliate programs (your own or a partner for someone else), you might want to re-think that decision. Here’s why.

My first experience with affiliates came while promoting the upcoming Tony Robbins Unstoppable events in Phoenix and Denver this month. I personally know 3 of the 6 event speakers and they are amazing (no, I don’t know Tony yet). I’ve seen the value and inspiration they provide, so it was a no brainer to help promote the event so other people could benefit from hearing them, too.

What started as a favor to my friend turned into a really cool win-win. I was helping people get discounted tickets and bonuses to a really amazing event, the promoter was filling seats, and I received a small thank you commission for spreading the word. Affiliate commissions usually range from 10% to 50%. If you are wondering why you should pay someone for a referral, consider this. It’s business you may have never found on your own, so why not share the success with the person who helped you? Most likely they will return the favor when you send them business. A referral system that’s easy and rewarding for people is a must for every company. Plus, it’s a fairly low expense compared to other marketing activities.
