How to be Organized and Rich, not Rigid – Part III

efficiency-round-bottom1 By now, you should have gained back at least 1-2 hours per day from the first two posts on organizing time and space in your business. Now, here’s one of the most impactful strategies for results – organizing your Activities. How you spend your energy and focus has the biggest impact on the bottom line profits of your business.

To free up your energy and focus, you must implement systems in your company.  Otherwise, you will get bogged down by being busy, but not productive. Every company, big and small, needs systems.  They create time, consistency, and clarity in your day.  They allow you to scale, outsource, train team members, and let you take time off from your business for vacations and family events when you choose.

Many systems are free and non-technical.  I often see business owners push back on systems because they fear there’s a major investment in time and money to establish a system. It’s the opposite – systems can be very simple and help you reduce costs once they are in place.  You can literally ‘set it and forgot it’ when you systemize.

If you aren’t sure what to systemize, I invite you to download my new list of 100 Proven Systems You Need to Boost Results.  This will give you some great ideas for what to systemize in your company around sales, marketing, money, people, and operations.  CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD.

Once you have systems in place, here’s how you prioritize the rest of the activities on your to-do list for the biggest impact to your bottom line.  While many tasks can be systemized, some just have to be done manually due to the knowledge required or their non-repetitive nature.  Follow this formula for optimal results:

1) Identify everything on the to-do list that ONLY you can do

2) Delegate the rest of the list to your team or outsource company

3) Prioritize and complete items that only you can do by answering this question:

Will doing this action generate business revenue, reduce business costs, or lead to automation?

If the task doesn’t meet at least one of those criteria items, don’t do it.  It’s not adding value to your company.  Also, if you plan to run a million dollar plus company, you must work on million dollar activities.  The hourly wage of a millionaire is about $524.  If an activities costs less than that amount, give it to someone else to complete using delegation. It’s not worth your time, effort, or focus to do it yourself. (Don’t have a team?  Check out my post on How to Easily Delegate When you Don’t Have a Team.)

I challenge you to stay productive, not busy, by following the three step process.  You will be amazed at how fast your company performance improves by focusing on the right activities and breaking up with the wrong ones.
