Is it REALLY Unaffordable – or is that an Excuse?

Why Prospects Don’t Buy when We know they Should  

​Ever have prospects tell you that they can’t afford you – even when you KNOW what you offer will produce an ROI far above their investment?  Have you ever said that you can’t afford something that you know will help you? Is it really the money, or is something else going on?

 ‘I can’t afford it’ carries many meanings and implications. Sometimes it really is a matter of not having enough money (which usually is temporary and can be overcome with time and effort). Most of the time, it’s a lot more complicated than that.

What’s truly going on when we, or our prospects, don’t investment in the support we know will resolve a challenge? It's probably one of three things:

1) You don't believe YOU can deliver

The problem is that some people started a program in the past and didn’t stay committed to doing the work required to get the results. Often people tell themselves they didn’t have enough time to implement and they will finish later. What makes us think we’ll have more time a year from now?  The world seems to move faster and faster every day – it doesn’t slow down. Most likely, we’ll have even less time a year from now.

The solution is a done-with-you or done-for-you program.  People are busy, so DIY is becoming less and less effective. If you know you don’t have time or will become distracted and not take action, hire people who will be by your side. When the work gets done together, the work gets done. You then experience even better results in your business.

2) You don’t believe the SELLER can deliver

We’ll all been there. We bought someone else’s program hoping it would be the answer we needed to attract more clients, and it wasn’t.  The only person who benefited was the one who sold us the course for thousands of dollars.  This happened to me multiple times and it’s quite disappointing. But, we can’t let past decisions stifle us from getting the support we need.  Ever have a bad experience at a restaurant? Did you give up and never eat out again?  That would be ridiculous. 

The solution is to truly vet the consultants and coaches you hire to ensure they follow their own advice – and have real, proven results. Once you find the right support, be open to guidance from those who already achieved what you want to do.  An outside coach can see things that you can’t see yourself, and we remove the obstacles so you have a clear path to success. Without support, you will continue trying to figure things out alone which is the long, slow route.

3) You value something else MORE than resolving your challenge

Investing money is all about choices. Purchasing is simply exchanging money for something you find of higher value.  It’s deciding between staying stuck where you are in same-ville or comfort-land, or taking the leap for something more.  It feels so much safer to do nothing and hold on tight to money.  But where does that leave you – without new clients, limited growth potential, and not serving the world with your gifts.

 The solution is to be a clear Yes or a clear No.  Saying that you have to think about something only delays your transformation. Worse yet, being indecisive just adds more clutter to your mind in an already busy world.  You won’t move the needle forward. Make the decision to say YES because you value the solution more than staying stuck

You can waste an entire year with any of these excuses which just delays your transformation.  People always find a way to afford what they really want. It’s a matter of choice.

The biggest expense in your business is not making money.  Period.
