How to Create a Professional eBook in Under 7 Minutes

Educational lead magnets, such as an eBook, are a great way to help your prospective customers solve a problem. When potential clients give their contact information in exchange for your lead magnet, it’s a fantastic way to build your email list and community. An eBooks (something like a white paper, but typically broader in scope) still works as a lead magnet - as long as it covers most of these criteria:   Solves a problem,  Delivers a quick win, Provides value, and Reads quickly and easily.

People are busy.  If your eBook doesn’t meet the above criteria, you risk having people quickly unsubscribe from your list.  When it does meet, and even exceed the criteria, people will look forward to getting more relevant content from you in the future.

While eBooks have real advantages, there are also two big challenges – they take a lot of time to write, and they take a lot of time to produce. You have to determine your eBook idea, create the eBook outline, write the content, add images, then edit, edit, edit.  Once all of that is done, you still need to format it and create a cover that sells.  And that’s just for one eBook. Imagine if you are writing a series of eBooks!  That’s a ton of work.

Whenever I can get something done with less – less time, less money, or less energy, I’m hooked. Slow and inefficient drives me nuts!  That’s why I have two valuable suggestions to help you solve both of the eBook challenges.

Writing:

If you have been consistently creating content for your business, it’s time to re-purpose that material into valuable eBooks. Content should come from your blogs, podcasts, videos, media interviews, online summits and even Facebook posts. Written content is instantly ready to convert into an eBook. Audio content can be easily transcribed into a Word document in a matter of minutes. Then, it can be converted into an eBook. With all of the available content you already created, there’s no need to start from scratch. Just re-purpose what already exists into a compelling eBook.

Why not take several blogs that cover a similar subject area and combine them into an eBook? You can do the same thing with podcasts.  I just released my 175th episode of the Nancy Gaines Show, a podcast which has been downloaded in over 80 countries.  I've been honored to have some amazing guests who shared great tips on marketing, sales, and even passive income. I plan to batch those up, transcribe them, and create an eBook with the best of the best business tips.

Formatting:

Once you have the content created, some eBook software is all it takes to produce the final product. If you are not familiar with Designrr.io, definitely check it out. I’ve saved many hours using this in my business while making my own eBooks.

This formatting tool can create an eBook from an URL, document, pdf, and even a Facebook post – in minutes. Imagine taking a blog that you know is getting great engagement, and instantly converting it to an eBook lead magnet. Simply insert a URL into the web-based tool, click the button, and your product is ready in minutes. The eBook will retain your images, yet strip out the header, footer, navigation, and social share buttons. Pretty awesome, right?

Once the eBook is converted, you might choose to customize it to match your brand or enhance the cover.  You can easily change the font, colors, background images, and so much more.  The menus are user friendly and simple to use. The best part is you can save your eBooks as projects and/or template to reuse or modify in the future.

One of my favorite features is creating a 3D cover image in just one step. I found that 3D images look so much better than the flat covers I’ve used in the past.  I also like the ‘flip book’ functionality – making it feel like I’m reading a physical book as I turn the pages. As a business productivity expert, discovering this eBook tool was a game changer for me.

If you’re feeling a summer slowdown in your business as people take time off for vacations, this might be a good time to search your repository for eBook worthy content.   Just select your five best pieces and convert them into eBooks in minutes.  This will provide you with multiple lead magnets to rotate (and test) on your website. If you also offer a membership site or subscription service, you can include the eBooks as part of your member-only content.

Research shows that eBooks still work, and there are limitless ways to use them in your business. The good news is you can make them faster and easier when you choose the right systems and tools. Invest seven minutes of your time to re-purpose your content, and attract more customers.
