Decrease Overwhelm and Enjoy More Productivity with 3 Great Ways to Organize

Organized Companies Have Higher Profits

Organizing your business to increase your productivity and success…makes sense, right? You can also decrease frustration and overwhelm while increasing your efficiency - if you know where things are, have the information you need, and, if you, are not doing it all without a team.

Seriously. We all know how it starts. Just a few pieces of paper on your desk, that over time becomes a stack, that soon looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Or the moment that you think of a great marketing campaign for certain customers, but then realize you don't have your contact list organized for that specific group. You scrap the whole idea and send out another general bulk email to everyone. (Which might be followed by some unsubscribes.)

Here are 3 great ideas to help organize your business for productivity and success - and help your ideas take flight.

1. Eliminate the Piles

Let’s start with that paper pile, or more to the point, what’s in that paper pile. Receipts can get tucked into just about anywhere. This can make it difficult to keep track of your business expenses, and can also affect your bottom line. In a previous blog, we talked about getting your paper files and paper piles off of your desk, out of your office, and onto the cloud. Get rid of those pesky receipts to be more productive. Check out mobile scanners, such as those found on Brother.com, that will connect to specific accounting programs. Do some research on what’s out there and don't forget to check out your App store. There are many tools that can help you be more organized with your business accounting.

2. Organize and Manage Your Contacts

There are a number of contact manager options available for small businesses. If you don't have one, you need one. They are much more than just a system to keep track of your customer names and contact information. They are marketing tools.

The one I use in my company, and definitely my favorite, is Infusionsoft. I was excited to learn that Infusionsoft now offers affordable options starting around $100 per month. Once you learn the basics of this tool, you will have your customer’s information at your fingertips, anywhere and at any time. A good contact management tool provides tracking for opportunities, leads, partner management, reports, email integration, workflow, calendar integration, marketing automation, and more.

This brings us nicely to our next item to increase productivity ...

3. Automate More of your Business

Every business is bound to find a number of items they can place into automation. Anything you do more than twice needs a systems. Anything you do more than three times should be automated. Peter Daisyme has 7 great tips to get more organized like using tools to manage your Social Media. He also speaks of Inventory automation. Automating these two things alone, will increase your efficiency dramatically, save you time and money, and help you increase your revenue! Now that’s organizing your business for success!

Want to implement even more automation? Systemize your email marketing and your sales funnel. This can turn leads into customers and customers into repeat customers and referrals! Once you configure automated follow up emails that nurture your lead or customer, sit back and watch the sales roll in. Just set it and forget it.

Here are even more ideas for email automation:

· Trigger automatic Welcome or Thank You emails from web site opt-ins like signing up for newsletters, subscribing to a blog, downloading eBooks, and registering for webinars

· Send periodic emails to customers who haven't contacted you or purchased your product or service within a certain time frame, possibly quarterly

· Generate emails to customers who have purchased specific products who might also be interested in add-on products that can accelerate their success.

These are just a few of the many things that can be done with an automated system in place. Imagine how automation can help your business – and free up your time!
